Halloween is just a few days away. If you haven’t gotten around to figuring out your costume yet, it’s time to start. You can either make a mad dash to the costume store (but expect a pretty picked-over selection) or let makeup work its magic. There are so many easy-to-emulate looks in my book “Makeup Manual”. Here are a few:
And here’s a retro punk look from Beauty Rules, the beauty bible for young women.
Want a more natural punk look? We enlisted Cassandra (our resident office makeup maven), to create a Punk-inspired look for Katie, our package development manager. Using some simple artistry and a good amount of creativity, Cassandra gave Katie a Punk-Rock edge, while staying true to her natural beauty. The end result: a grown-up and pretty alternative to what you’d find in your typical Halloween face painting kit.
Start with the eyes first. Blend Charcoal Eye Shadow all over the lid then sweep Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner along the lash line and flare up at the end. Lift the upper lashes and line all along the inside rim of the eye. Line along the bottom lash line and flare up at the end to create the dramatic swallow’s tail. Smudge Ultra Violet Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow along the inside corner of the eye and bottom lash line, blending well into the Charcoal. Fill in the swallow’s tail with Pacific Eye Shadow. Finish with several coats of glossy Extreme Party Mascara.
Brighten the under eye area with a Creamy Concealer that’s one shade lighter than your skin. For a flawless complexion, use a Foundation Stick that matches your skin exactly. Also blot the foundation on your lips for a completely nude lip. Set the concealer and foundation with Sheer Finish Pressed Powder then sweep on a touch of Medium Bronzing Powder across the temples and cheeks.
The final step—give your lips a generous coat of Crystal Lip Gloss for that sexy rocker pout.
Now that you’ve seen our spin on Punk-Rock, we welcome you to show us yours! Email us a link to your Halloween look in our comments section and we’ll pick our favorite 10 looks, which will be posted on October 31st.
