Try these Mod-inspired looks for Halloween.
When Twiggy burst onto the scene in the 60’s with her signature pixie cut, larger-than-life eyes and uber mod wardrobe, the world took notice. To this day, her iconic look continues to inspire. In chapter 11 of my book, Makeup Manual, I feature the work of dynamic duo Gail Hadani, a photographer, and Paul Innis, a makeup artist and illustrator.
They work in tandem to do bold, mod-like makeup—with a twist. In their versions, they use candy-colored pops of color on the lips, feathers disguised as lush, electric-hued eyelashes and sugary-sweet confections sprinkled anywhere and everywhere. For a wearable take on these looks, pick either a shiny nude or punchy lip color; go for dramatic, saturated eyes and apply more mascara than you can possibly imagine (if you have a steady hand, you can even try false lashes).
Are you going mod for Halloween? Send me a snapshot of your look. I’ll choose my top ten favorite looks and feature them on my blog. – BB

They look so cool. We don’t really celebrate Halloween over here, which is a shame. I’m not brave enough to sport those looks on ordinary days.
