I’m really excited to introduce you to Danielle Diamond—our new guest blogger. In addition to being a good friend, Danielle is an amazing yoga instructor, health guru and model in our Pretty Powerful campaign (PS: she’s a fan favorite). Danielle shares my love for healthy food and always has lots of great advice that I try to live by. That’s why I thought she’d be the perfect addition to my blog. I hope you enjoy her column as I know I will.

Practicing Gratitude
by Danielle Diamond
What first drew me to Bobbi was that she is genuinely grateful for her life. She’s worked extremely hard, yet knows she is blessed to have built an incredible empire, while raising a beautiful family. I am extremely grateful to be included in her Pretty Powerful campaign, and also for this opportunity to be a part of Everything Bobbi—where I’ll share tips and tools to help you find health in body, mind, and spirit.
The holidays are a perfect time to be grateful; amidst the shopping, cooking, and over-booking, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and forget what this time of year is truly about.
The great news about gratitude is that it not only makes us happier, but healthier. New research has discovered that people who have a daily gratitude practice, which focuses on the positive aspects of life, are also less stressed, get more sleep, and have fewer overall health problems.

It’s simple to add a gratitude practice to your life. I do it during my daily meditation, but you can do it sitting at a red light. Think of one thing each day that you are grateful for—a simple change of perception from what’s lacking to one that’s plentiful.
Please take a minute and share with us one thing that you are grateful for this holiday season.
“In our daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy”- Albert Clarke

I’m so grateful for the love and constant support of my family. It’s been a tough year for us with the loss of our 16-yr. old niece, Sarah, to leukemia, but I am so thankful for the years that I had with her: a spunky, brilliant, witty and courageous spirit!

First … awesome to see you here, Danielle. I had no idea about this Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful campaign until I saw your name affiliated with it and clicked in to see more. Beautiful image of you with your mala beads at the bottom. LOVE!
And really appreciate this post. because it’s true. gratitude DOES lead to greater health and this was a great reminder to me of that. I’ve been hearing the Universe buzzing this in my ear for a few weeks now. This post was the nudge: time to put daily gratitude in as a regular part of my daily meditation (and random moving about through life meditation) practice.
xo!

p.s. As I’m on my own journey to reconcile issues around beauty/image as it aligns with my power. I’m going to be meditating a bit on this phrase “Pretty Powerful”, too. Love it. xo
