Bobbi’s Timeline

Similar to how Madonna rocked the song “Like a Prayer” at the Superbowl even after years and years of performing it, I never get tired of telling people about how I got my start. So when Style Malaysia asked me to reflect on the most special moments since the inception of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, I gave them answers that were truthful yet conventional, and tried to throw in a couple that would surprise them too.

Between the momentous first day I sold lipsticks at Bergdorf Goodman, to the accidental way I came up with the fan-favorite long-wear gel eyeliner, read on to see what other moments made the cut as I reflected on my 20 years of being a makeup artist.

The black is meant to be more of a liner shade. In most cases when there is a dark shade like Onyx in a palette she makes, it’s meant to be used as liner. 9.9 times out of 10, if Bobbi has a dark, black based saodhw, it’s not meant for application all over the lid and it won’t blend well. It’s just not the Bobbi way You can use the LE, double ended gel pencils that are in the collection to make awesome smokey eyes easier with this palette. Use the black end on the lash line and blend it out with a liner brush. It makes a great, dark base for the start of a dark smokey eye!
