Birthdays are a big deal in our offices. With cupcakes, champagne and presents aplenty, we know how to celebrate everyone’s special day. It should come as no surprise that I always look forward to my own birthday party that we host in our SoHo Office.

While I wanted to keep cupcakes as part of the celebration for my colleagues with a sweet tooth, I decided to mix things up a bit for this year’s party. As a self-proclaimed health nut, I substituted the champagne for healthy juices from Organic Avenue, and added kale chips and crudité to the menu.

In addition, instead of gifts this year, I asked my friends and family to make donations to our newly adopted school, the Broome Street Academy. I was so blown away when I visited this amazing school, and I realized we could make a big impact by pooling together items that they really need.

So after a long day of back-to-back meetings, I celebrated my birthday with my amazing colleagues. While I made sure to fill up on the green juices and celery, the real show stopper was without question the Louis Vuitton-inspired cake made by Just D’sserts by Sparkle (and yes, it tasted just as good as it looks).  We were able to collect books, school supplies and gift cards for the Broome Street Academy’s incentives program, and I was really humbled by everyone’s generosity.
