Bobbi Turns 20

From my black pumps to my beloved sparkly jewelry, I love having a reason to dress-up for a party. This week, I threw on my party best for our New York celebration of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics’ 20th anniversary. Hosted at the Crosby Street Hotel, a group of friends, family, and industry influencers gathered to celebrate this amazing milestone with me.

Clockwise from upper left: pop-singer Kat Deluna; actress Julie Wolfe, fashion model & actress Nancy Donahue and professional tennis player Joanne Russell; Editor in Chief of Teen Vogue Amy Astley; founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar- Dylan Lauren; socialite & activist Cornelia Guest; contributing editor to Vanity Fair George Wayne

During the party, there was a screening of The Wise-Cracking Beauty Queen, a short film created by the talented Bruce Weber in honor of the occasion. To introduce the film, Leonard Lauder, Chairman Emeritus of Estée Lauder, gave a really heartfelt (and hilarious) speech on our 16-year friendship.

The film was fun to see- I hadn’t even shown my family yet. It was nice to relive what a great time we had during the shooting- so many spontaneous moments made it into the film- drumming, dancing, laughs, even some tears. And there was plenty of cinnamon spiced popcorn to munch on during the film, which made my sons happy.

Everything at the party, from the delicious cocktails to the warm reception of my friends and family, made me feel really blessed for the past 20 years. Here’s to 20 more! -XO Bobbi

Here’s the recipe to the signature drink we served at the party, courtesy of Kanon vodka. Delicious.

Kanon Cucumber Mint Fresh

1.5 oz. Kanon Vodka
4 slice(s) cucumber
3 sprig(s) fresh mint
.75 oz. fresh lime juice
.5 oz. agave nectar

Lightly muddle cucumber and mint in the bottom of a shaker, add all other ingredients and ice. Shake and pour contents into a collins glass.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this with the rest of the world! Bobbi, you are such an amazing inspiration!!! I have learned more from all your books and on the job, than the time spent in beauty school! Every day I strive to become a better artist and I am so proud I can make women look beautiful and not ”makeup-y” :-))) I owe part of my craft to you! I hope one day our paths will cross, if not i will call you and ask to assist you ;-))))))!!
