Bridal Beauty (aired 5/31/12)
Wedding season is upon us so Bobbi popped by NBC’s Today Show (she’s their official Beauty Editor) to create a pair of easy, beautiful looks for two very different kinds of brides: City and Beach.
Before Bobbi got to work, she shared a few of her favorite bridal beauty tricks that work wherever your wedding will be—from sticking to yellow-toned foundation (so you always look flawless even when that camera flash goes off), to opting for long-wearing eye shadow and waterproof mascara for makeup that lasts long after the bouquet’s been caught.
Plus, make sure to layer your blush with a cream formula first, then dust a pop of powder blush on top. Brides tend to get faded running around all day and this little layering tip keeps your cheek color fresh and pretty.
Now, bring on the brides…
City Bride
This look is all about sophistication and understated elegance with dark eyes and a brighter-than-you’re-used-to lip.
Cheeks: Bobbi blended in a natural shade of Sand Pink Blush and added a pop of Pale Pink for pretty staying power.
Lips: For a lip that lasts, she chose to layer Plum Rose Rich Lip Color first, then used Rose Lip Liner to outline and fill in the bride’s lips after. The final touch? A swipe of Popsicle Sheer Lip Gloss for polished shine.
Eyes: To get standout eyes that last, Bobbi started with a neutral base, using Bone Eye Shadow. Next, she lined the eyes with Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and topped the look off with false lashes. If you’re not into false lashes, try Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara.
A more relaxed look with “sexy-hippie” appeal, the beach-bound bride should focus on bronzy skin with subtle shimmer.
Cheeks: To keep skin looking sun-kissed, Bobbi applied our soft matte Bronzing Powder to the forehead, cheeks and neck. Next, she dusted Maui Illuminating Bronzer on the cheeks for a natural-looking glow, blending the whole time. A touch of Shimmer Brick to just the tops of the bride’s cheekbones brought an even prettier shine.
Lips: For a really natural look with a hint of glimmer, Bobbi added Spun Gold Lip Gloss.
Eyes: Bobbi started with Bone Eye Shadow as a base and added a final touch of twinkle with Silver Moon Sparkle Eye Shadow on the lower lid. For extra definition, add Caviar Ink Long-Wear Eye Gel Liner and Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara.
After all, on your wedding day you should look like yourself but at your most beautiful.
Foundation Fixes (aired 4/10/12)
Last week, I appeared on the Today Show to talk about foundation and quick fixes for spring. My #1 tip when it comes to foundation – you have to choose the right color. It’s really important to find a foundation that blends into the side of your face (and not your hand!). If possible, swipe the foundation on your cheek and look at yourself in natural light. You know you’ve found the right foundation when it looks like your skin but better.

Makeup Facelift (aired 3/20/12)
Just in time for an early spring, Bobbi went on The Today Show last week to share her secrets to achieving a fresh and healthy look (no matter what your age). Here, our model Susannah is given a mini update with emphasis on glowing skin, pretty pops of sheer color and a touch of subtle definition. Click on the picture above to watch the full segment.
Step 1: Plump and Prep
Bobbi uses Hydrating Face Cream on Susannah to moisturize and plump up her face, then she uses Hydrating Eye Cream to prep her under eye for corrector and concealer.
Step 2: Corrector/Concealer
Bobbi applies Corrector in a tone one shade lighter than Susannah’s skin tone under the eyes to even out any discoloration. Then she applies Creamy Concealer over the corrector to brighten the under eye and inner corner of the eye.
Step 3: Cheeks
Bobbi uses Pot Rouge in Rose to give Susannah a pop of color on her cheeks and lips.
Step 4: Eyebrows
Bobbi defines her brows with the Saddle/Mahogany Brow Kit.
Step 5: Lip Gloss
Bobbi uses Hot Pink Lip Gloss to give her lips a rich dose of color.
Add Some Color (aired 1/17/12)
Whenever I get a case of the mid-winter blues, I find color instantly cheers me up. From a brightly colored shirt underneath a tailored black blazer to a hot pink scarf—or even bright orange lips, color always makes a bold and confident statement.
On Tuesday, I made a Today Show appearance to showcase our new Neons & Nudes collection, which is the perfect way to wear bright bursts of color while still keeping your look sophisticated.
First, I created a beautifully neutral face for our model, Marie Claire. I started by sweeping Ivory Eye Shadow across her lid and lining her eyes with Espresso Long Wear Gel Eyeliner. Her lashes were accentuated with Party Mascara. Then to add a pretty pop of color, I used Atomic Orange Lip Color on her lips. If you want a lighter look, try blotting the lipstick on a tissue and then applying a coat of sheer lip gloss—Citrus is my favorite. I dusted her cheeks with Nude Peach Blush, then dabbed a little Citrus Lip Gloss on top to give her a dewy touch of color.
For Cassandra, I went for a neutral lip and bright, “notice-me-now” eyes. To create her perfect nude lip, I used Uber Beige Lip Color highlighted with a swipe of Buff Gloss. I played up Cassandra’s pretty eyes by lining them with Black Long Wear Gel Eyeliner along the top and Mahogany Eye Shadow along her bottom lash line. Finally, to add that neon rush of color, I applied Ultra Violet Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow across her entire lid.

By the way- I also ran into the lovely Paula Deen and snapped this quick pic-

This Monday, Bobbi made a special appearance on The Today Show to share the many ways that shimmer can add a festive touch to any holiday look. First, Bobbi gave model Katie a beautiful lit-from-within glow by adding a sheer wash of shimmer to her pre-existing makeup (on eyes, lips and cheeks). Then Bobbi used herself as a model to demonstrate how shimmer can also enhance a mature complexion.

How to Get Rid of Dark Circles (aired 11/21/12)
With Thanksgiving this week, I wanted to put a fun spin on my Today Show appearance on Monday, November 21st. As Beauty Editor for The Today Show, I do all sorts of makeovers, take calls from women to answer their beauty questions, and explain techniques that are really popular (everyone wants to know how to do a smokey eye right now!).
During this week’s show, I asked women what features they are most thankful for, and explained how to enhance them. It is so important to play up your favorite features, because it will make you feel even more pretty and confident. Whether you apply eyeliner and lots of mascara to your already pretty eyes, or show off your lips with a nice pop of color and gloss, knowing how to correctly apply makeup will work wonders for you. - BB
