During a recent flight to the west coast, I watched “Life Through A Lens”, the Annie Leibovitz documentary. For almost two hours, I sat completely riveted—and inspired. From her early years with Rolling Stone to Vanity Fair, Annie not only chronicled an era but also helped form magazine photography as we know it.

More than anything, it was great to see her as a daughter, sister, mother and lover. Her family really allowed and encouraged her to use her passion and art. The documentary brought back memories of an awesome Rolling Stones shoot I did with her and it rekindled my love of portrait photography (which was my minor in college). You never know…
