I Love My Boys

My sons, Duke, Cody and Dylan surprised me by adding their own Mother’s Day wishes to my blog – I love my kids!

From my youngest son, Duke, the baby of the family~

The five things I love most about my mother:

  1. My mother is determined. She doesn’t let anything stand in her way.
  2. My mother empowers others around her. She is always raising the spirits of others especially when I need motivation.
  3. Her curiosity is endless. Nothing will stop my mother from asking strangers about their life story and background.
  4. My mothers sense of humor is unique. Very little people find her jokes humorous.
  5. She always tells how everyone has their own story. You never know what people are going through therefore you have to be nice to everybody!

Hey Mom – remember this? I gave this to you for Mother’s Day when I was a kid. Happy Mother’s Day Mom ~ Love, Duke

From my son Cody~

My Mom as My Role Model

My mom is definitely the most unique CEO in America. She was not valedictorian of her high school, she did not go to an Ivy League school, and she does not have any post-graduate degrees. She was an average student at best, but she has gone on to have founded one of the most successful cosmetics companies in the world and more importantly has positively influenced the lives of thousands of women. My mom is my role model because she proves that one can be extremely successful without fancy degrees and a 4.0 GPA. She has so many great qualities that make her as successful as she is and an inspiration to all.

She is very passionate about what she does. She has taught me that with passion, anything can be accomplished. My mom has also taught me a lot about empathy. She is very good at putting herself in other people’s shoes and understanding what they are going through. Most importantly though, my mom has taught me that the most important thing in life is family. There is nothing she enjoys more than spending time with her husband and children.  Happy Mother’s Day ~ Love, Cody

From my son Dylan~

Happy Mother’s Day Mom

On this Mother’s Day I am thinking about the many times I have seen people approach my mother and express how thankful they are and how my mother’s products have changed their lives.  I tend to think of makeup like any other product, especially because I do not use it, but it is really great to think of it sometimes as something more, how it can really make some women’s lives much better.  I love you Mom ~ Love, Dylan

Here are all of my son’s baby shoes that we had bronzed – and a picture of Duke as a baby.

Dylan and Cody take karate lessons!

Cody and Dylan in overalls. I love this pic. So cute.

I play ‘mom’ to more than just my sons, I frequently have a whole house full of boys that include my sons, my nephews and our foreign exchange students Allessandro, from Italy and Amadeo, from Germany we affectionately call the ‘Euro Boys’. This pic is my nephew, the Euro Boys and my son Duke home on Spring Break.

My youngest, Duke with our dog Pup-Pup that he entered in a dog show competition that included a doggie dance-off – they won first place!

This is the most beutiful entry ever!! So sweet and beautiful. You’re not lucky because of your career, that you are, but because the family and the attitude you have in life. This is exactly the kind of inspiration I love.
