Happy 4th of July!

I may have a thing for the Union Jack, but my one true love will always be the American flag. Besides its unparalleled graphic appeal (I always love a set of stripes), I can’t help but look at it and feel a sense of pride and patriotism—particularly during the Fourth of July. As a New Yorker, its meaning runs especially deep; singing the national anthem in front of the flag is always a moving experience for me.

What better time to show off our own reds, whites and blues than a US flag-inspired creation by John Eaton, our Design Manager, with Hollywood Red Lip Color stripes, Navy Eye Shadow and a little White Eye Shadow for the stars.

One of my favorite representations of the stars and stripes is Jasper Johns’ painting hanging in NYC’s Museum of Modern Art as we speak, but I also love spotting it in more everyday places like delivery truck bumper stickers (or a well-loved flag hanging from our Bobbi Brown studio wall).

And, while we don’t recommend you wear red, white and blue all at once (unless it’s face paint for the parade), we do love a bold red lip with a fresh, clean face— after all, our Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow is the ultimate sparklers for eyes.

Or use navy shadow as eyeliner for the finishing touch to a look that’s all about soft, smokey eyes.

See our face charts below to get these two easy, classic looks for the Fourth of July and beyond.

xo,

Bobbi
