BB Cream is on just about everyone’s radar right now. Also known as ‘beauty balm’ or ‘blemish balm’, this new category in makeup gained a cult-like following in Asia, but with over $9 million in US sales this year alone, the little-tube-that-could has officially arrived stateside.

Bobbi stopped into The Today Show to talk everything BB—and no, in case you’re wondering, it wasn’t named after her.

This do-it-all formula is a moisturizer, foundation, primer, SPF and anti-aging treatment in one. It even balances and brightens skin too (now if only it also took out the trash). With slightly more coverage than a tinted moisturizer—but just as lightweight—the beauty of BB cream is that it instantly evens out your skin tone while improving skin’s appearance over time.

So what’s Bobbi’s take on BB cream? The secret to picking the right BB cream is about choosing a skin tone correct shade (Bobbi’s version comes in five colors from fair to dark, with deeper shades to come).

You can wear it alone or under your favorite foundation so make sure you pick a BB cream with a texture that works for you. Bobbi recommends using it with:

- A Foundation Brush for a flawless finish

- Hydrating Gel Cream underneath if you have oily skin

- Hydrating Face Cream underneath if you have dry skin

- Face Touch-Up Stick on top to spot-cover blemishes

- Finally, set it with Sheer Finish Pressed Powder on top, for all skin types
