Discovered as a teenager in her home country, Angola, Maria was raised by her older siblings amidst civil war. She’s already had an amazing journey, and I can’t wait to see how far she goes.

I wash my face with cold water, and then I apply Bobbi Brown face cream!!!
Who is your style icon?
OMG I don’t have only one, but I having been working with the best in the fashion industry and I love them all! If I had to single out a few, I’d say Edward Enninful, Carine Roitfeld, Arianne Phillips, and Patti Wilson.
Name one skincare or beauty product you can’t live without.
I love Bobbi Brown foundation because it works amazingly for women of color!!
Know any good beauty tricks?
I apply ice on my face before applying makeup!
What makes you feel pretty powerful?
I look in the mirror and I feel pretty powerful when I take a moment to appreciate all that I have been able to do and see and accomplish!

I appreciate all your interviews with models and celebrities. The stories are truly inspiring. One thing I wish you would do more of, is have more women over 50 in your campaigns. I feel that would inspire women like myself (55 and a customer for over 21 years). Thank you for your inspiring stories.

Also, Deep Bronzing Powder, with Sand Pink and Flame Blushes enhance cheeks. Banana and Blonde Eye Shadows, along with Pitch Black Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner were used for her eyes. It’s awesome to see a campaign with a young lady with a deeper skin tone. I believe this beautiful young lady will help other young ladies of color appreciate their beauty that is so very often overlooked. BB is a great cosmetic ccmpany for all skin tones. Keep up the great work BB.
