You’ve got the dress, you’ve got the date (or you’re planning to rock prom solo, which might be even more fun), now you just need the perfect makeup look. Prom makeup doesn’t have to be stressful—you should feel free to have fun and try something new, like a bold lip or winged liner. Just keep in mind a few important rules that will help you survive the night smudge-free and look great in all those photos.
- Long-Wear: You should be running to the bathroom to catch up on gossip, not touch up your lipstick! Opt for long-wearing lip color, liner, and mascara that will stay put.
- Cheek Color: Pretty, flushed cheeks will make you look gorgeous in photos, so make sure to add a pop of color.
- Glow: A fresh, glowing complexion is naturally gorgeous, especially on cheeks. Get it with a dusting of Bronzing Powder or Shimmer Brick.
We pulled three of our favorite prom night looks—each one is a twist on your normal night-out makeup, but is still easy to execute and super-flattering.
Winged Liner:
Use Ink Liner in Blackest Black to create this super-precise look, and make sure that the wing is even on both sides. Liner is the focus of this look, so keep the eye shadow color a soft bronze or any complimentary color. Here, we chose Copper Long-Wear Cream Shadow and kept the glow going with Bronze Shimmer Brick and a pop of Apricot Blush on cheeks and Honeysuckle Creamy Lip Color on lips. Finish the look with a swipe of Bare Sparkle High Shimmer Lip Gloss and 2-3 Coats of Extreme Party Mascara.
Bright Lip:
I love this look because it pairs a bold, bright lip—our Neon Pink Lip Color—with an unexpected liner color. Cobalt Ink Long Wear Gel Eyeliner—a rich navy—is a great choice because it’s subtle enough not to compete with your lip color, but still cool and fresh. We added a little dimension to eyes with Sandy Gold Long-Wear Cream Shadow on lids, and then finished with a combo of Smokey Eye Mascara and Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara. Add a pop of Pale Pink Blush on cheeks.
Purple Shadow:
Experimenting with an unexpected color on the eyes is a great way to play up your prom look. The main thing to keep in mind with this look is balance—because you have a bold shadow on, keep the lips and cheeks nude. We used Lilac Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow on lids, paired with Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick and a pop of Nude Pink Blush on cheeks. For pretty pink lips we chose Crystal Pink Creamy Lip Color and Crystal Lip Gloss. Finish the look with Black Ink Long Wear Gel Eyeliner on the top lashline, and a softer line of Charcoal Eye Shadow along the bottom lashline.

Hi, do you do a full face of prom make up in either your “Bradford Broadway shopping centre store” or anywhere in Leeds?

We sure do, Emily! Just give the counter a ring to book your appointment so you have some one-on-one time set aside with an Artist. Find store details here: http://bbrwn.co/1GdHyw8 and enjoy your prom!
