Fireworks, sparklers, and the beach—I’m so ready for the Fourth.
If you want to show off your patriotic primaries, but don’t want to rock stars-and-stripes on your clothes, makeup is a great way to go. The key is to wear color on just one feature and keep the rest simple—here’s how:
Try pairing a bright red lip color, like Old Hollywood, with a nude eye. For something blue, wear Rich Navy Eye Shadow on lids with a nude lip. Want to add some fireworks? A little Sparkle Eye Shadow, applied to the inner corner of the eye, is the perfect way to highlight eyes.
See the step-by-step below on how to create an Independence Day-ready Navy Smokey Eye. Happy Fourth of July!
Navy Smokey Eye
Step 1: Choose a neutral shadow or Long-Wear Eye Base to prime lids, and apply all over lid.
Step 2: Use Cobalt Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner along the top lash line in short, even strokes.
Step 4: Finish the look with your favorite mascara formula in Black.
Step 5 (optional): For extra pop, try adding Sparkle Eye Shadow in Silver Moon over the lower lid or just in the inner corners of the eye for a soft glow.
