Whether it’s a pop-up makeup studio in a hotel lobby, a life-size replica of BB Headquarters in Soho, or a Taiwanese hip hop performance (complete with a “we love you Bobbi” chorus), the Chinese know how to throw a party.
Last month, we celebrated the ten year anniversary of Bobbi Brown in China with a whirlwind, champagne toast-filled tour of Shanghai. I couldn’t list all of the events if I tried (I’ll let the photos speak for themselves), but some of the highlights were: the go-big-or-go-home-level anniversary party (think couture runway show meets American Idol), a ladies-only conversation about life-work balance with EIC of Elle China Xiao Xue, and a get-together with some of China’s top makeup artists. I’m obsessed with Tony Li—the “godfather” of makeup in China—he has an incredible makeup book out that you should totally check out if you love makeup like I do.
I left exhausted but filled with serious pride about all my team has accomplished—here’s to the next ten years.
