Recently, I went to South Africa to visit my incredible South African team and I’m still smiley when I think about the energy and openness of each makeup artist. It wasn’t easy to get there — as a matter of fact it ended up being quite challenging but I made it and so glad I did.
On my way to Africa, I sat on the airplane for almost 5 hours waiting for take off at Kennedy Airport only to hear over the loud speaker — “there are technical difficulties & please come back tomorrow.” After some moans and groans, we deplaned but quickly realized that if I stuck to this new plan that would mean I was going to miss the meeting with my South African artistry team who all were waiting my arrival. Luckily, my brilliant hubby and son booked me on a flight out of Newark for that night flying through London with an 8-hour layover and overnight flight to Cape Town. This left me with just enough time to run home, grab a bag with one days worth of fresh clothes and hit the road for my solo journey. Twenty-four hours later I arrived at Cape Town airport and this is what I saw out of my window (my friend Barack Obama on his South Africa tour). I shuttled to the hotel — very tired and jet-lagged — but a quick shower, espresso, and blow-out and I was ready to meet the team. Enthusiastic, happy, and loud is the best description I can think of for the greeting I received. After an hour Q&A with the team (my best market research), we were able to chat and take a few photos together before it was time for me to head back to my hotel to meet the press. It was a long day for sure, but a great one and I loved meeting such an inspiring team.
Stay tuned for my incredible safari journey that I later took with my extended family — blog post coming soon!

Bobbi

These pics are outstanding. Look at those radiant smiles from being with their guiding light Bobbi. You can feel their passion for their work, more like their mission, come through the images. How wondrous to see your business halfway round the world take on this kind of energy!
Bobbi, you should commission an actual tee like the one in the drawing, then wear it in front of a blown-up copy & distribute it. It could hang in at every Bobbi Brown counter in Africa. I bet your adoring customers would be enchanted!

I am happy to see that your products are available in South Africa. I live in the US and when my sister visited me many years ago from Cape Town, I introduced her to your products. It was love at first sight. Now she no longer has to wait to visit me to get her Bobbi Brown products. Thank you so much for creating products that suits all of us.
