When it comes to beauty, I believe that everything starts with nude. As a young makeup artist, I helped pioneer the “natural beauty” look that is still the basis of my philosophy—it’s not about no makeup, but about wearing the right makeup for your skin tone. And the cornerstone of any nude look is a true-to-your skin foundation.
For years, I worked on sets where I was instructed to make up not only a model’s face but also her body from the shoulders up. This was to compensate for the fact that foundation, at the time, wasn’t about matching your skin tone, but instead about covering up. I realized that most people’s skin has yellow undertones, and that a yellow-based foundation would blend seamlessly into a woman’s skin tone. The problem? There wasn’t anything like this on the market.
Enter my Foundation Stick. It’s the first foundation I made, and it’s still something I use every day—at work, on the weekends, even for photo shoots. I love it because it’s buildable, but it doesn’t look like you’re wearing makeup—just that you have really great skin. The perfect nude base.
I’m excited to say that—though I think the Foundation Stick was already pretty perfect!—my team found a way to improve the formula. The new Skin Foundation Stick now has a translucent base, so it’s nothing but your true color. And speaking of true color—it’s always been crucial to me that my products be for every woman, no matter her skin tone. We’ve always offered a wide array of shades, and with the new Skin Foundation Stick, we’re able to offer more shades than ever.

I’ve been wearing BB makeup for over 10 years. I’ve worn liquid skin foundation and the long wear. I’ve always loved them. I’m 44 and altho my skin is still primarily oily, I’ve noticed small changes in it. Then the new formula came out in the stick….I was always jealous of the women that could use it before and wish I had dryer skin just so I could use it! Sooooo, I rushed to my BB counter to get a sample….cool sand, which btw, I am 1 hour and 45 minutes from Tampa…I live in a rural area. And I LOVE it! I am one happy girl and my coworkers just want me to shut up already! Lol. It’s all I talk about , except for the awesome Bb eyeglasses we just for in at my optical shop because I’m obsessed with this amazing woman!
