Beauty Inspiration from the 2016 Oscars

Oscars Inspiration

There were so many confident, smart, and talented women at the 2016 Oscars. They also rocked some incredible beauty looks. Here are five looks that stood out and how to achieve them with my makeup at home:

Blackest Black Ink Liner

Blackest Black Ink Liner

Wearing the ultimate nude palette on eyes, lips, and cheeks, contrasted by a standout black liner can be truly stunning:

  1. Apply a shimmery bronze cream shadow like Beach Bronze Long-Wear Cream Shadow across the lids.
  2. Draw liner on the top and bottom lashline. Add a subtle cat eye at the outer corners. Go with the blackest liner you can find like Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner.
  3. Open up eyes and create volume with a black mascara like Eye Opening Mascara
  4. Create a subtle, luminous glow with a illuminating powder with a hint of color like Rose Retouching Powder.
  5. Finish with a nude lip color. Try Almost Bare Luxe Lip Color with Brightening Lip Gloss

Classic Hollywood Pretty

Classic Hollywood Pretty

Pairing a classic face with a pretty updo and striking earrings creates old Hollywood red carpet magic:

  1. Start with Slate Long-Wear Cream Shadow applied across the lid and Grey Eye Shadow blended into the crease.
  2. Smoke Saddle Eye Shadow along top and bottom lashline.
  3. Draw a thin defined line of Espresso Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner across the top lashline.
  4. Apply Eye Opening Mascara on top lashes and Intensifying Long Wear Mascara on the lower lashline
  5. Apply Pink Retouching Powder for an illuminating blush.
  6. Fill in lips with a nude lip pencil like my Bare Art Stick followed by Crystal Lip Gloss.

Bold Berry Lips

Be all about the bold berry, it takes any nude face up a notch on the carpet or for an event:

  1. Sweep Champagne Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow on lower lid with Eggplant Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in the crease
  2. Smoke Violet Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner along the upper lashline.
  3. Draw a thin defined line of Espresso Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner across the top lashline.
  4. Add definition and volume with a black mascara like Eye Opening Mascara.
  5. Add color to cheeks with a dusty pink blush like Desert Pink Blush and add radiance with Pink Glow Highlighting Powder on cheekbones.
  6. Finish by applying a striking shade like Pink Rose Luxe Lip Color with a brush.

Bombshell Brows

Amp up your lashes, define your brows, and a pop on a pretty berry lip:

  1. Apply Burnt Sugar Metallic Eye Shadow with Toast Eye Shadow in the crease and Blonde Eye Shadow along lower lash line.
  1. Line eyes with Pitch Black Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner.
  2. Add volume with Eye Opening Mascara.
  3. Brush up and define brows by filling them in with Mahogany Long-Wear Brow Pencil.
  4. Pair Bronze Glow Highlight Powder high on cheekbones with Tawny Blush on cheeks.
  5. Finish with Red Berry Luxe Lip Color.

Belle of the Ball

For a soft, beautiful and subtle fairytale look go nude with hints of color:

  2. Line eyes with Caviar Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and layer a powder liner on top like Smoke Eye Shadow.
  3. Apply a high drama mascara in black like Smokey Eye Mascara.
  4. Go with Pretty Pink Blush for a bright pop of color on cheeks.
  5. Finish with a nude, sheer lip with a hint of pink like Crystal Pink Sheer Lip Color.

  1. Is “Fawn Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow” sold in the US? (example used in the “Belle of the Ball” tutorial) I didn’t see it on the website.

    Thanks!

  2. My favorite two looks out of these are the Blackest Black look and the Belle look. I love a gorgeous nude look and I love a strong eye. The Luxe lip formula is amazing btw! LOVE it! I guess tomorrow I’ll go and buy the ink liner (pen liner, I have and love the gel liner), still haven’t tried it yet.
